End-Of-Summer Trip

At the end of the six-week summer program, the Upward Bound Project takes participants on a trip to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments.

Last year the Upward Bound Project went to Atlanta for three fun-packed days of cultural and educational activities. The trip was great! A bus picked participants up in their home communities on Sunday and returned them to their high schools on Thursday.

This trip was for students who showed committment to the Upward Bound Project and exhibited outstanding participation during the summer. It also let students experience new things: touring Turner Field and CNN headquarters, visiting the Georgia Aquarium, seeing the Annie Liebovitz and Louvre exhibits at the High Museum of Art, and seeing a performance of The Bluest Eye in a small theater setting!

In past years, Upward Bound has visited Washington, D.C.; Niagara Falls and New York City; Chiacago, Indianapolis; St. Louis; Memphis, and other metropolitan areas. Whether gazing out from the top of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis or seeing the Lion King on Broadway, get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
