Meet the 2002 UB Summer Program Staff
Each year at the start of the spring semester, UB begins their search for the staff of our summer program. Because our Bridge students and six-week component students live in a University of Iowa residence hall, we need to hire an entire staff to live in the hall and advise our participants. When staffing residence hall positions, we plan on hiring one resident advisor (RA) for every eight UB participants. We also hire one male resident director (RD) and one female resident director to supervise the entire residence hall staff.

In addition to serving as advisors and supervisors to the students, the RAs also participate and teach a number of lifetime sports and special interest activities with the UB students.

Because part of the intent of the summer program is to give participants the experience of college life, Upward Bound hires a staff of educators to teach core classes and seminars.
