The 2009 Summer Calendar

Get ready for a fun-packed and busy summer at The University of Iowa!

Monday, June 8

Bridge students arrive at The University of Iowa by noon.

Tuesday, June 9

Opening banquet

Dancing at the welcome banquet.

Bridge students begin their University classes when the summer session begins.

Sunday, June 14

Students participating in the six-week program arrive at The University. A welcome ceremony follows in the evening.

Sunday, June 21

Family picnic at City Park in Iowa City. Participants' families and UB alumni are invited to join Summer Program participants and staff for an afternoon of games, music, food, and friendship.

Friday, June 26

Survivor: Iowa!

Thursday, July 3

Students leave at noon for their home communities to enjoy the Independence Day holiday.

SUnday, July 5

Students return to The University of Iowa to complete the remaining weeks of the Summer Program.

The UB pool party in West Liberty.

Saturday, July 25

Friends and Family Day celebration. Join us as the Upward Bound Project celebrates the successes of the Summer Program with family and friends of students and staff. Six-week program students leave Iowa City for their home communities.

Saturday, August 1

The last remaining Bridge students move out of the residence hall after final exams. The residence hall closes at noon.

Sunday, August 2

It's time to enjoy the successes of the Summer Program and start the end-of-summer trip!
