Awards for UB Summer Program Participants
Many awards are given here at Upward Bound
for academics, UB spirit, and Residence Life. Awards are presented
to students each week during the summer program and at the conclusion
of the program.
The Academic Award
The Academic Award is given to students who have demonstrated outstanding
effort and success
in language arts, math, science, foreign language, and technology
seminar.
The Spirit Award
Just as the title says, this award represents the lively spirit
of Upward Bound students. Students who receive this award must be
able to cheer their peers on
and keep things moving. At the
end of the program, you could receive the Director’s
Award. This award goes to the star of Upward Bound. This
award is the top award for your spirit during the summer program.
The Resident Award
This award is given to the students who cooperate
and work well with their peers.
They are usually students with positive
attitudes and who work hard
to make the residence hall a great place to live with
other UB students.
