| Chris Slauson Project Secretary
Chris Slauson is Upward Bound’s Project Secretary. She has been at The University of Iowa and Upward Bound since January 1998. Chris was born and raised in Iowa City. A first-generation college student, Chris graduated in December 1996, with an AAS Degree in Office Administration—Administrative Assistant. She hopes to one day continue her education and obtain a BA degree. In the meantime, Chris enjoys working on the computer and learning new software programs to enhance her skills and education. When Chris has some free time, she enjoys spending it with her son Tanner and husband Gary. Tanner keeps Chris pretty busy—he loves to play outside trying to scoop snow, dig in his sandbox, water plants, and rake leaves (of all things!). Tanner is also fascinated with trains and construction equipment (especially tractors, dump trucks, and cranes). His favorite characters include Thomas the Train and Bob the Builder. Gary is a local construction contractor and has been in business since 1999—no wonder Tanner is obsessed with heavy equipment! Chris also enjoys cooking and collecting recipes, decorating, watching movies, reading magazines, gardening and landscaping, and walking.
