Rachel Norman
Coordinator of Counseling
Services

Coming to Iowa, Rachel experienced culture shock!
Chicago and Iowa City were incredibly different for the college
freshman. Now after six years in Iowa, Rachel considers it home
and cheering for the Hawkeyes is second only to Chicago teams.
Rachel recently graduated from The University
of Iowa with a BA in African-American World
Studies and a minor in Religious Studies.
She is excited to work with the Upward Bound Project because "empowering
students to make the most of their education and lives are beautiful
tasks."
As Coordinator of Counseling Services, Rachel
assists high school students as they prepare for college and in the summer
she will make sure all the UB students have a place to sleep, food
to eat, and lots of fun things to do.
In her free time, Rachel loves to travel
and volunteers with a Christian
organization. She also enjoys learning
basic greetings in any language. How many ways can you
say "Hello"?
