Originally from Fort Madison, Iowa, Deb attended St. Ambrose University (Go Bees!) in Davenport and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education. Upon completing college, Deb taught high school English at Aquinas High School (now Holy Trinity High School) in Fort Madison. After five years of teaching Deb decided she wanted to further her education and enrolled full-time in the Student Development graduate program at The University of Iowa (Go Hawks!). In May 2006, she graduated with her Masters of Arts in Student Development in Post-Secondary Education.
In her free time Deb tries to spend as much time with her family (Mom, Dad, sister/brother-in-law, and two brothers) as she can and looks forward to becoming a new Aunt in summer 2007. She is always looking for a good book to read—some of her favorites include: Little Women, The Secret Life of Bees, Pride and Prejudice, and A Time to Kill. Deb is always in the mood for a good movie and enjoys 1980s classics such as The Goonies, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Sixteen Candles.
Deb is a proud Hawkeye and looks forward to the football season each year.
