Project Secretary
Welcome to Chris Slauson's page! In case you don’t know her, she is the Upward Bound Project Secretary and has been since 1998. When you call the office, Chris is usually the person on the other end of the telephone. She is a native Iowa Citian and graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 1996 with an Associate of Arts Degree in Office Administration—Administrative Assistant.
Chris is a first-generation college student and one day hopes to continue her education and earn a Bachelor's degree. Chris's passion is working with computers and learning new software programs, so she will probably go into the technology area.
When she is not at work, Chris spends a lot of time with her husband Gary and son Tanner. Gary owns his own construction company, so that keeps him very busy. Tanner is enjoying his years in elementary school. She also helps Gary keep the books for his business.
Other than those things, she likes to bake and collect recipes, watch movies and TV (soaps, too!), read books and magazines, walk, do puzzles and shop. Maybe you'll see her at the mall some time during the summer program!
