How to Apply
There are a few basic requirements to join the program. You need to:
- Be a student at Columbus Junction, Davenport (Central, North, or West), Muscatine, or West Liberty High School.
- Be a 9th or 10th grade student and willing to participate in the Project through your senior year.
- Have a current grade point average of 1.50 or higher.
- Be willing to take a class schedule that will prepare you for college.
- Be a potential first-generation college student (this means that your parents or guardians do not have a four-year college degree) and/or your family's taxable income meets low-income guidelines.
The University of Iowa Upward Bound Projects serves students in Columbus Junction, Davenport, Muscatine, and West Liberty. If you do not attend one of these schools, contact the guidance office at your school to see if another Upward Bound serves your area.
Applying to Upward Bound
To be considerd for the Upward Bound project, you'll need to fill out an application. If the computer you're using has the Adobe Acrobat Reader or Microsoft Word installed, you can download the application from the links below and print it out (you only need to download one of the two forms).

If you're at home or have a cell phone handy, you can call our office toll-free at 1-800-272-6450 and ask that an application be mailed to you.
